The place where the sky is clear, the air is fresh is a haven for the birds and butterflies.

There is something I enjoy about going for a trip, it is definitely not the suitcase packing, or last minute check-in of wanted documents,  or the anxiety of missing your flight. Urgh I can’t even.

But of course… When I remember that I will be outside and I have to dress up, it makes it a little bit worth it.

The interesting part is figuring out how much personality you can get out of the same few items. Since I understood the complex knowledge of styling clothes, I have traveled lighter, felt more relaxed, almost weightless.

One Wardrobe, Several Moods

Sometimes it is the same basic accessory.

The Pearl necklace.

The same pair of earrings.

The same pair of trousers.

And somehow, depending on what you put around them, they become a completely different outfit.

So this time, rather than showing you a collection of outfits, I wanted to look at the wardrobe differently.

What happens when you let the pieces talk to each other?

LOOK 01 — THE PEARL GIRL

Black + ivory + a little red

LOOK 02 — COLOUR HAS ENTERED THE CHAT

Green + red + black

LOOK 03 — THE GREEN DRESS

Teal/green + blue + pearls

LOOK 04 — RED, PINK & A LITTLE DRAMA

Red + pink + white

Sometimes it’s literally just:

“What happens if I put these two colours together?”

And you find something.

THE RE-WEAR REPORT

Here’s what I actually like about these outfits and why they were the perfect candidates for a week’s trip.

THE PEARLS

This bijou (Jewel) is literally everywhere. It shows a flow from classic → relaxed → resort → playful.

THE RED TROUSERS

I think it really completed with the pearls. It was the pop of bold needed for a trip especially if activities are involved. Moves from casual to chic when color is added. E.g black top, pink top, green top.

THE BLACK LAYER

Works as a quieter styling piece rather than being the entire outfit.

THE HATS

Change the personality of the looks almost immediately, tho without the scarves, it probably would have been bland. Scarves indicate effort, efforts indicate interest and self love.

You look good, you feel good. You feel good, you do good.

THE COLOUR THEORY.

Like I wrote in previous publication the color theory; bold colors are not the enemy but rather an ally. Be it in small doses or the base of your outfit.

Black, ivory, red, green, & pink keep appearing in different combinations.

So although the outfits are different, they feel like they belong to completely different people, they still belong to the same wardrobe, same person.

PEARL’S NOTE

When you see a stylish person intentionally come out looking slay don’t ask: why is this person wearing this? Rather ask:

Why does this person wear it this way?

What does the colour say?

Why this accessory?

Why this combination?

What happens when the same piece comes back six months later?

And, most importantly—

what makes the outfit feel like them?

Cheers to the soft life 🥂
