More value doesn’t necessarily mean you sell to an enthusiastic buyer, but also that you see your item for more value than before (when it was just basic).

There are clothings you will not be paid to wear, there are others you look at and believe they have potential to be great -though not the first item you would pick up. This post says a bit more on situations like that.

But it isn’t enough sometimes to just have unique pieces. How do we put a personal mark on it, make it sparkle ✨? How does an item shift from unique to personalised unique with Pearls on the Scene?

Well, firstly, to personalize an item, asserting dominance over it in ownership, you either add or subtract from the item. You can add beads, fringes, paint, buttons, feathers and so much more to an outfit, for example: on this linen shirt, beads were added to the collar and sleeves end. Getting beads with a similar color to the shirt keeps the neutral look but makes it attractive and intentionally detailed. If 7 people could wear this exact top, how many do you think would have beads on their collars and sleeves? and that is what makes YOU stand out. (Oooh!! Look at me sounding so motivational).😏

Secondly “it’s not altering, it’s styling”. Change the way it is meant to be worn. My favorite is wearing a zip in front meant for the back or buttons to the back when it’s meant for the front. In styling, the collaboration I didn’t see coming was me putting a twist on a Ciar piece, no zips, no buttons, no scissors, and it was a hit.

With an advantage of premium linen fabric I maximized the length to provide the puffiness of the gown. Means I can revert it to the original length with no alterations done. What makes this unique is the additional charms I put around and the multiple pockets on the dress that got created in the process.

Thirdly, I did mention tassels, fringes or feathers. you do not have to break the bank or sweat to get the best of things. When mother got this Persian lush carpet from Iran (apparently they have the best handmade carpets globally) years ago, she immediately cut off the tassles. FAIR! because those things are never aligned anyways. I, however knew the value of tassles in fashion and style and held on to it for a while. Not till I started sports and wanted to personalise my athleisure did i remember the tassles once more.

The list goes on and on and that is why I cannot fathom when girlies say they have nothing to wear -because as long as you have a closet of clothes, the styles are limitless.
