It has been quite a year. For every one. Good or bad, 2024 has seen quite a number of growth, setback, and self reflection.
It’s New Year’s Eve, and we have so many activities to catch on in the outside world. So this will be quite short. It’s a wrap-up article, ergo, some things you may have read before or seen, but in more ways than one, this post is to highlight some things you may want to visit, revist, or keep up. So, to wrap it up, here are some categories of things you should go into the year 2025 with. From new places to try, styles to incorporate, books to read, what album to rinse and what to watch, pearls on the scene brings simple yet pleasurable ways to relax come 2025.
Starting off, here are 4 places to be.

- BarYucca, Abuja. A new rooftop spot at the central business district of Abuja. Great music. Great vibe. Great food. If you like pickle social house, you may like this one. https://pearlsonthescene.photo.blog/2023/07/23/scene-to-be-seen-at-pickle-social-house-p-s-h/
- Royal Mansour, Marrakech Morocco. This hotel/resort is a haven of solitude, nature, beautiful interior, and pleasant people. Want to catch a break from all the whataboutism in Nigeria? Try here.
- Cow Rib, Medina. The shrimp cocktail is a must try amongst other food groups.
- Kammi’s Beauty Parlor, Kaduna. Visit this classic looking patlor for all your beauty upkeep and lifestyle tips from the owner herself. https://pearlsonthescene.photo.blog/2024/11/26/a-beauty-parlor-called-kammi/
What to watch. A lot of things have hit the screen lately on any of your streaming platforms, Netflix, Apple, Hulu, Prime and more. So it was quite tasking to pick out 4. But we tried.

- Poppas house, for a light laugh and some nostalgia of the Wayan brothers production.
- Meet me next Christmas. A different twist on Christmas story, romance and musical. There’s a guest surprise there and oh my god, it stars Christina Milan.
- Funmilayo Ransom Kuti. An insight to one of Nigerian’s influential woman’s life, trials, and wins.
- The monk series. This is a classic investigative series from the early 2000s. If you like murder and mystery, this is the one. And something about it being old makes it more likeable. If you want a feminine mink vibe, try Elsbeth, a series as well.
Books to read was a challenge because I have read quite a couple. So it all comes down to…

- Any Marian Keyes novel. For a pot pourri of life happenings in Dublin Ireland, surrounding the lovely funny Whelsh family.
- Incredible dream of Garba dakaskus by Umar Abubakar Sidi. Give context to dreams other than yours. Learn the way of the alphabet in this book.
- Steal like an artist, Austin Kleon. For creatives who need an extra boost.
- Intermezzo by Sally Roony. Blessing Tarfa (POTS family member and author) has been raving about this, decided it has to be top 4.
Albums on replay all through 2024 that deserve room 2025:

- Morell, his album MVNSV is still a solid 10.
- Sabrina Carpenter (sweet ‘n’ short). A diva that isn’t going to stop anytime soon.
- Doechii, (Alligator bites never heal). A mix of Sza and Tanks and the Bangas. Thank POTS later.
- Asake (Lungu Boy). Dive deeper into the album away from the top 4 mainstream songs.
Of course: Style to keep and what to incorporate daily.

- Turtle neck are always IN with a touch of sting pearl necklace.
- Have at least 2 brocade/damask. This was the IN fabric asoebi for the Bellas 2024. It’s about to go haywire in 2025. This fabric has been around for many years. It’s can only fade for a bit, but it always makes a comeback.
- Incorporate heels, at least kitty heels to elevate most of your outfits. Taking it from casual to proper. Bring back dressing up at all times.
- Layer jewelries of different made and color on an outfit to simply stand out. Maximalist is in, but Pearl on the Scene advices keep it down a notch. You don’t follow trends. You just have your style.
Ways to improve your space:

Ways to fancily upgrade your space.
- Flowers. Real or faux, the presence of flowers in a proper space can elevate the room.
- Colors. There is something about complimenting colors that improves mood. Maroon, orange, pink, navy blue, olive green, beige, and even white.
- Lamps. Bedside lamps. Standing lamps and even tiny aesthetic lamps not only elevate or improve your mood, but it gives you the chance to tone down on light when you want to wind down or be romantic.
- Incense. To keep the room smelling nice. Ward of bad vibes and help in quality of sleep. Note: Keep your space tidy, for Incense doesn’t automatically make your room neater. When your space is clean. The air is fresher, boosting the incense scent.
And to round it off, here are 4 things to avoid for your sanity, peace of mind, and overall growth.

- Arguing on social media about things that are not even in your circle or lifestyle.
- Letting movies like the princess switch part 3 and books that are boring consume you. Life is too short to indulge in bored.
- Ignoring your wins because they aren’t as big as you project. It takes small wins to get BIG wins.
- Having a weekly diet without vegetables and fruits. These food groups offer quite a number of vitamins found in supplements. Good for the knees, hair, nails, and skin. https://pearlsonthescene.photo.blog/2024/08/30/oh-the-grass-is-always-green/
As we look forward to 2025, the one thing on my Radar is catching up with Dubai Bling season 3 and also visiting another African country. OK, that makes it 2. Te he hehehe
