A Beauty Parlor called Kammi.

Situated in the heart of Kaduna, one of the numeral northern states in Nigeria, lies a new concept of a beauty salon setting. Due to its interior, vision, and objectives, the salon has a different outlook for people wanting style in comfort.

Parlor, the word from the French word parlé: to speak had been in existence since English came to be.

Chatting with the founder of the Beauty Parlor, the beauty experience was extended to Pearls on the Scene.. Pearls on the Scene met the founder sitting on one of the chairs, sipping her afternoon tea while interacting with customers.

P.O.T.S: this is such a pretty place. Great interior and quite lively.  What was the idea like for creating not your regular. salon but a beauty parlor?

Parlor standard setting.
Interior and settings.

K.B.P: Well, I have always frequented beauty salons for my beauty upkeep here in Nigeria and out, and there has always been an experience I aspire to have here. I wanted to offer that to people. So the beauty parlor is where people should come relax and basically do two things at the same time. Beauty upkeep and relaxing. Forget about your worries. Women like to chitchat and learn from each other. So I created a safe haven to bounce ideas of each other and talk about girl things. You know, never seeing someone and probably not going to see again makes talking therapeutic. Try it.

P.O.T.S; and the accented colors, furniture choice and overall setting is quite unique. Do tell.

K.B.P: I have had enough ideas for the interior. I just knew once I get a space, I’d know what to do, from colors, art, and ornaments. My interior is an extension of me. From my home to that space. It reflects me. And the clients seem to love it

The ones that do not know me are in awe of what the space is like and the ones that know me, they understand this is just me. I’ve always loved fashion, cosmetics, anything to beautify a place or person gets me happy. I mean look at me… *laughs.

Youngin representation of the Founder KBP. C’est Belle!

Truly, she was adorned with a single string pearl necklace, drop of pearl earrings as well. Goddess braids in wine color with a hint of grey hair at the roots (trust goddess vibes) hidden underneath a golden turban. Wearing a simple wrapper sewn into a mildly fitted A shape gown with golden slides and a crocodile skinned bag, she looked seamlessly divine. And oh, she smelt so divine.

P.O.T.S: you smell exquisite, what is that you have on.

K.B.S: Oh, this. It was a gift from my daughter. Miracle by Lancome. Very cutesy *both laugh* Also one of my favorite perfumes because it smells like literal nostalgia. Also, there is a bit of Elizabeth Arden Red door in there.

P.o.t.s is quite star-struck at this point. Gets offered a cup of tea of blackcurrant flavor by one of the girls.

P.O.T.S: What’s with the tea concept? Is it part of the package?

My natural nails gel painted in baby pink.

K.B.P: The tea here is for friends, and it only seems right to have some sort of beverage at a parlor, don’t you think? Tea was my only go-to because my love for tea is personal. Initially, it was meant to be for sale, part of the package, but I still don’t have my vision finalized for the tea space due to the flat wall, so for now I keep it for my extra special people and family (my daughters).

P.O.T.S: Off the top of your head, what would you say are the services rendered here?

K.B.P: We offer peace, love and light *laughs* Actually, we bring your inner beauty out. By doing your beauty regimen for you, we are also giving you a confidence boost after all confidence in itself is beauty. That includes hair maintenance like braids, wigs and natural hair upkeep, manicures and pedicures, consultation, and sometimes therapy.

This goddess length was the first of its kind in K.B.P 😍

P.O.T.S: Got any word of advice for those newly interested in beauty and those already knee-deep in it?

K.B.P: When it comes to beauty, like I mentioned in my speech a couple of years back to the kids interning at a beauty spa, “always be abreast where beauty is concerned and what is happening in the beauty world” like my people will say dress how you want to be addressed. You can call it packaging as you kids call it these days or just being you. At the end of the day, do try to look good and be on your toes.

P.O.T.S: to round up, so what other plans do you have for Kammi Beauty Parlor?

Trying out feet modeling.

K.B.P: I want a house with multiple rooms that cater to individual beauty styles. Additionally, a spa, a fashion room, and a make-up studio. The whole 9 yards of beauty.

P.O.T.S: This was an awesome experience. Thank you for the tea as well as the “off the record tips.” Hope this goes a long way, I mean, I see it going a long way, but still, I pray. ❤️

K.B.P: it is always a pleasure. Don’t be a stranger. Also do tell them (your readers) to follow the business page on Instagram for updates @kammibeautyparlor *hugs*
