Knowing me is Knowing I love to try new foods so long as it’s allowed. Strolling round the island of Lagos, I stumbled upon cactus, a restaurant at Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island.

Being a cactus plant🌵 fan, I just had to try it. It had a wide array of cactus plants at the entrance to entice you, but a serene indoor ambiance with 2 different sections and a nicer calm ambiance outdoor facing the Lagoon. The music was low and mellow, making it easy to chat with company.

The menu, surprisingly not pricey, was worth it. Looking for something new to splurge on, the name “summer rolls” caught my attention. “Why is this on the menu when it’s not summer?” Oh well, curiosity took over, and I did not regret it. When i saw it, my first thought was, am I about to cheat on sushi 🍣?

Well, not really. It has a sushi vibe without the seaweed. Accompanied with thick soy sauce but definitely not AMOYs.
It is a Vietnamese dish traditionally consisting of prawn, vegetables, mango, carrots, avocado, and other ingredients wrapped in bánh tráng (commonly known as rice paper). They were served cooled down, and that got me intrigued. Upon further research, that’s how it is served or served at room temperature but never hot.

The waiters were nice, and the place is celebrity attractive as i saw quite a couple of them, apparently.
I experienced the indoor ambiance and loved it. I had to try the outdoor scene facing the lagoon.

Ordered a dessert 🍨 off the menu that was 10/10. Brownie with a classic vanilla ice cream on top, courtesy of friend. What I liked about it was the contrast in temperature. One was freshly oven baked and warm, and the other was well… ice cream cold.

I believe this will be my favorite must go to place anytime I am in Lagos. Great for dates, work, pictures, and food. You should try it and let’s talk about it.
