So, it’s the start of a new year, the start of a new season. What does Pearls On The Scene have in store this year? Can’t say for the year, but we know what we have for you this edition…

2024 essential wardrobe needs. The new year somehow cooks new trends in fashion. Even though we don’t follow trends here on this scene, we have a list of classics that could be used decades later. Stay on the page as we take you through 7 essential wardrobe needs that could go with the most outfits you can put together.

1. Gloves: not the regular kind, but the lacy cute ones that give off Bridgeton vibes with bows preferably. Could be wrist length or arm length. If you plan your style well, it could be worn with anything. Absolutely anything. Mostly black is more common, but other colors upon research could be available.

2. Sandals: not your regular Moses sandals or flat sandals. But the slightly wedged ones, popularly known as KITO sandals in Nigeria. It is so comfortable to walk with, run with, stroll with, whatever it is. So light weight and safe off the ground as it is an inch or 2 high with straps for comfort. Don’t sleep on these sandals, girlies.

3. Shan/Sensua Fan: The popular known chinese hand fan was first used in China, Japan, and India. Could be trailed down to ancient Egypt as well. The handfan can be used for uplifting a style. Keeping the heat away elegantly, serving as a shield from sun rays. And yes, it doesn’t need a battery. Perfect!!

4. Boots:

5. Totebags: This has been on the scene for a while and would probably be on the scene for long. Grab this and make it your comfortable go-to bag. Holds your prayer essentials, shoes, books, beach bags, laptops… quite a handful. The personal stay grounded tote bag holds my hijab, mat, tasbih (prayer beads), and 40 Rabbana Duas. Somebody say MashaAllah!

6. Original designer piece: you can’t go through life and not have one of the “finer things in life”. Make it anything. A bag, wristwatch, china set, scarf, shoes, perfume, I mean, it’s a long list. But cop one. Get your closet a bougie curated item.

Xerjoff scent. Rayban glasses. Versace collection hand bag. And pearls.

7. Wide brim sun hat: whew, the sun in the BUJ isn’t relenting. It keeps you thinking of how many sunscreens would last a month at this rate? Umbrellas are cute but heavy. Hats are lightweight and keep you protected from sun, and tall people gaze. 😉
