THE 90s PLAYLIST!

Firstly before I was aware of anyone on there, the Spice Girls were already dominating my formative years. Lunch boxes, posters, afro hair and lollipops…There’s something about the 90s fashion. Here, we have the Crew neck Crop sweater, a product of Frillmomd, Korea. Just the blast from the past you need. On our vintage sourcing day, we stumbled upon this baby Pink spice, on full display behind the main glass. The color was screaming ADORE ME, ADORE ME. Adored it we did, we had to add it to Pearls On The Scene collection. What’s an oldie if there’s no Barbie girl By Aqua?

Aah, Teenage years? These songs had us in a choke hold. It’s a memory capsule because this era had girlies crushing on Boy bands like Backstreet boys, hey A. J. Singing Stronger by Britney Spears at the top of our voices, or being inspired by Christina Aguilera’s wild style. There is someone who wanted to be all the Spice Girls. 😅 Understandably so too.

°Lucky by Britney spears.

This Superstar had her own created niche when it came to fashion, so good it showed in her unique moves added to her choreography. In lucky, we see Britney Channeling her inner Monroe but not forgetting her fashion roots of low rise and crop tops with a shiny belly button.

Genie in a bottle – Christina Aguilera

°Wannabe – Spice Girls

With ready to party round London boots, mini skirts and an energy balance of different personalities, it’s expected to have different styles of fashion as well. Five women with an individual style sense makes the group quite relateable. The style ranges, from sporty to mini skirt feminine. It portrays well in their hit song “wannabe”. Look out for Posh spice and learn some 90s attitude.

Everybody – Backstreet Boys

This I promise you – Nsync

I miss you – Blink 182

°Marcarena – Los Del Rio

If you grew up in the 90s, you couldn’t have possible escaped the Macarena. At every party, club and discotheque, the DJs play Macarena to prove their skills.

Have we been singing this wrong?

Dale a tu cuerpo alegra Macarena/Que tu cuerpo es pa’ darle alegra y cosas buenas/Dale a tu cuerpo alegra Macarena/Eh,? Macarena! Aaay!

Here’s the English translation: Give happiness to your body Macarena/’cause your body is for giving happiness and nice things to/Give happiness to your body Macarena/Heeey,… Macarena! Aaay! 👏🏾👏🏾

The Spanish Music video has different women in colorful outfit dancing in formation. Reminds you of Justin Bieber’s song “Sorry”.

°S club party – S club 7
We learnt S Club 7 the British pop group from London, was created by former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller. 😲

°My love – West life

Urgh, Serving Love/heart break songs, check the West life Hotel. The nostalgia and yearn for love, that their songs bring about, makes one tear up at an unimaginery parted lover. They did have a decent style with a flair for Jackets. Although they tend to keep it safe by dressing similarly to one another, uniformity, guess that was a secret to their long lasting boy band.

Don’t speak – No Doubt

Barbie girl – Aqua

Sound of the Underground – Girl Sound

Pieces – Sum 41

Perfect – Simple plan

A trip down memory lane, bask in those goods memory. Here is a personal curated Playlist off this Crew Neck: THE 90s’ PLAYLIST specially added just for you!
